Come Prima Restaurant is an Italian-inspired restaurant in Lisbon, Portugal, which opened over a decade ago in 2001. Situated close to the Ancient Art Museum, sandwiched between the Madragoa district and the newly developed dock area, Come Prima Restaurant has become one of the city’s go-to destinations for those in search of high quality Italian food at very competitive prices.
Come Prima Restaurant is one of the more relaxed restaurants in Lisbon. The charming dining room has a wonderfully romantic feel, with twinkling candles and a glistening chandelier presiding over the convivial atmosphere. The area is spacious, with plenty of room between tables to ensure diners’ privacy and the service is friendly and attentive without being pushy.
Come Prima Restaurant is divided into two floors, providing diners with a choice of elegant environments in which to enjoy their food.
The menu is full of typical Italian favourites, all of which are well executed and use plenty of fresh, tasty and high-quality ingredients. Oven-baked pizzas and tasty pasta dishes sit side by side with more robust dishes.
Begin your meal with a home-made soup or fresh Italian salad before making your way on to the hand-made pasta options, risotto and seasonal favourites.
Popular dishes include the risotto ai fruit di mare – a delicious seafood risotto; filetto ai quarto formaggio – filet steak with four cheese sauce; pesto prawns; and octopus risotto. There is an extensive wine list from which to find the perfect accompaniment for your meal. Featured wines include many favourites from all over Portugal as well as a wide variety of Italian varieties and vintages.
The dress code at Come Prima is relaxed – opt for smart casual and you will not be out of place. In typical Italian style, no-one stands on ceremony here! Expect to spend around 10 – 15 euros for a main course and an average of 15 – 20 euros for a three-course meal. Allow a little more if you intend to work your way through the wine list.
Opening hours are from midday to 3pm for lunch and from 7pm to 11pm for dinner, Monday to Thursday. The restaurant stays open until midnight on Sunday.
Note that as in other areas of Portugal, many restaurants in Lisbon close on Mondays, Come Prima Restaurant is open seven days a week, making it a popular destination for Monday dining.
