Hotel Teatro

Hotel Teatro was launched in 2010 to a flurry of media interest. Built in the fully renovated, restored and rebuilt Baquet Theatre, which dates back to 1859 when theatre in Portugal was in its heyday, the Hotel Teatro has been thoughtfully designed to provide guests with a sophisticated, comfortable, and high-quality hotel with more than a touch of drama to go with it.

On arrival at the hotel, guests enter the reception area, which has been designed to represent the original theatre box office. Guests are allocated a ticket to access their room, a clever touch to recreate the memories of the theatre’s prime.

Hotel Teatro is a four-star hotel with plenty of luxury. 74 rooms are spread out over six floors, decorated in opulent bronze and gold, and oozing style and more than a hint of a bohemian atmosphere.

Accessible rooms for disabled guests are available, as are interconnecting rooms for families and groups.

The hotel offers 51 Gallery rooms, each equipped with twin or double beds and views out over the street or courtyard. Rooms have en-suite bathroom with shower or bathtub, and tea-making facilities are provided in the room free of charge.

Tribune rooms are slightly larger and include a work desk area, while the Audience rooms are unique spaces that are beautifully designed and include a large living and work area.

For the very best that the Hotel Teatro has to offer, opt for a junior suite, equipped with work desk and sofa bed, and offering delightful views out over the streets of Portugal’s stunning city of Porto below.

The pièce de resistance comes in the form of two spacious suites, one of 52 square metres and one an impressive 94 square metres. A separate bedroom contains the king-sized double bed, while the living area is equipped with work desk and a sitting area with sofa bed.

Guests at the hotel enjoy their breakfast, lunch and dinner in the unique atmosphere of the Palco Restaurant, located in the main public area of the hotel.

The restaurant has an excellent reputation for its gastronomy throughout Porto; however, if you would prefer simply to enjoy a drink or a light snack, the Bar Plateia Urban offers an elegant and sophisticated alternative.

Facilities also include a gym and a delightful terrace situated in the heart of the building. Located right in one of the busiest areas in Porto, the Hotel Teatro makes the perfect base for exploring all that this historic city of northern Portugal has to offer.
