The Yeatman Restaurant

The Yeatman Restaurant is the finest restaurant in the Porto area and is the only dining establishment in the area to possess a Michelin Star, which it was awarded in October 2011.

The hotel is located on the south banks of the Douro River, in the municipality of Gaia, which is famous for its Port wine cellars.

Like the hotel itself, the Yeatman Restaurant offers a comfortable, high-quality yet surprisingly relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy its sumptuous dishes. The tasting menus are highly popular, particularly amongst dinner guests. Offering a number of courses – often up to seven or eight ? the tastings menus are full to bursting with fresh local ingredients and delicious flavours from the far corners of Portugal.

Chef Ricardo Costa has a strong record in hotels in restaurants and was previously Executive Chef at the Hotel Casa da Calcada, in Amarante, which was awarded with a Michelin Star in 2009 and 2010.

Wine plays an important role at the Yeatman Restaurant, located as it is amongst Porto’s famous wine cellars, and you can be sure to find the perfect match for your meal. The maître d’ is full of helpful advice and recommendations, or if you opt for one of the tasting menus, the hard work of choosing the perfect wine is all done for you, with a different glass selected to provide the perfect accompaniment for every course.

The Yeatman’s setting is second to none. Offering panoramic views over the Douro River and Porto’s historic centre, there are few better places to sit and soak up the unique atmosphere of Portugal’s historic northern capital. When the weather conditions permit, ask for a table on the outdoor terrace to enjoy the perfect al fresco dining experience.

Guests at the hotel can request a private dining experience to be served on the terrace of their own rooms, while larger groups may wish to reserve the private dining room for a unique and memorable meal.

The Yeatman is open from Monday to Saturday from 12:30pm to 3pm and from 7:30pm to 11pm, and on Sunday from 1pm to 3:30pm and from 7.30pm to 11pm. A special Sunday lunch is served at €45 per head excluding drinks, while the price of tasting menus varies.
